Description
The RCWL-0515 Microwave Motion Detector Sensor is a high-sensitivity module using Doppler radar technology for motion detection. It emits a 2.7GHz microwave signal to detect object movement with precision. This sensor boasts long-range detection, strong reliability, a wide induction angle, and operates across a broad voltage range. Unlike infrared sensors, it is unaffected by environmental conditions, making it ideal for applications like human body induction lighting and anti-theft alarms.
The RCWL-0515 is a microwave radar motion sensor, similar in operation to the RCWL-0516. It detects motion by emitting microwave signals and analyzing the reflected signals for changes caused by movement. This makes it more robust than PIR sensors in some environments.
Wiring the RCWL-0515 with Arduino:
The RCWL-0515 typically has three main pins for connection:
- VIN (or VCC): Connect this to the 5V output of your Arduino. The module can operate on a voltage range of 4V to 28V.
- GND: Connect this to the GND pin of your Arduino.
- OUT: This is the digital output pin. Connect it to a digital input pin on your Arduino (e.g., Digital Pin 2). When motion is detected, this pin will go HIGH; otherwise, it will be LOW.
Optional Connections:
- CDS Pins: These pins are for connecting an optional Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) to enable or disable the sensor based on ambient light levels. You can connect one end of the LDR to one CDS pin and the other end to GND.
